Citavas is a warrior kingdom before it's anything else. King Brendon rules from the Port City itself, and the state's reputation for producing capable soldiers owes as much to his own example as to any standing tradition.
Citavas Port City sits on the coast just west of the Cantare Forest, sprawling enough that a visitor could lose a week just crossing it. East through the trees stands the Silverrose School of Magic, founded, students insist, by relatives of the same Silverrose line that still produces wizards centuries later. North of the school the Cantare Forest darkens into the Darklin Grove, a stretch of old growth the locals swear is haunted, and which the school's own students are forbidden to enter after dusk. Just off the coast, visible from the Port City's harbor walls on a clear day, sits Peak Island, its single mountain rising straight out of the water.
