Founded on a nexus, by a man who'd already lived a life's worth of stories before he laid the first stone.
No relation to the older school of the same name in Citavas. That one belongs to a different Silverrose, and a different story.
Taven Havc Silverrose is old by any mortal measure now, centuries old, though little of that shows on him. When his adventuring days finally ran their course, roughly two hundred years ago, he didn't retire quietly. He'd trained at the original Silverrose School of Magic in Citavas, his grandfather William's institution, on the far side of Voir. But it was Menboko that drew him next: a dwarven stronghold with a rare surface-level ley line nexus, the kind of place a wizard doesn't stumble across twice in a lifetime.
He petitioned the Emperor of the time, two rulers before the current Krulyn Faederdwerg, for the right to build directly over the nexus, and got it. What stands there now is entirely his own: an independent school, unconnected to the Citavas institution beyond the name he chose to carry forward. Students who'd rather study close to the raw source of ley power than commute for it have been finding their way to Menboko ever since.
